WRITE YOUR BRAIN
A five week mental health writing workshop with author and mental health advocate, Mark Freeman.
The Write Your Brain Workshop will return in the future.

This course was amazing, I learnt so much about writing as a whole and met some great people along the way too.
It’s great to be able to share skills for getting past mental health challenges with other people who have/are doing the same thing!

I loved this course. I am a mental health nurse in the UK and the skills learnt, as well as the enthusiasm and positivity of the group, made me believe that this is how mental health services should be. Mark creates these types of experiences due to his outlook, attitude and ability. He is a shining light in the mental health recovery world. If you would like to improve your creative output in regards to writing and presenting about mental health I couldn’t recommend this course enough. Thanks Mark!

What a great workshop. Working with Mark and the other participants was an awesome experience that helped me take my writing abilities to the next level. The skills and tools taken away from this workshop are invaluable, and I know I’ll be putting them to good use from here on out.
I also really enjoyed the group aspect of working with people who are also striving to share valuable information in the world of mental health. I can’t recommend the workshop enough!

Don’t hesitate. Take this course! Mark is not only a talented writer, but a gifted teacher to boot! He expertly shares tips and tricks for effectively transforming your ideas into real, valuable content. His supportive and encouraging attitude makes it easy to put your work out there. He’ll help you get grounded in your goals, brainstorm and develop ideas, and help you work through any areas where you are getting stuck.
In addition to getting Mark’s valuable feedback, you’ll get the added bonus of meeting fellow writers, sharing your thoughts on each other’s work and, dare I say it, making friends?! I met some really awesome people taking this workshop, which was really such an added gift to an already great experience.
Give yourself the gift of this experience.

A huge thanks to Mark for putting this course together! I’m currently attempting to write a book, and, as a complete novice, this course gave me invaluable insight AND structured practice of the skills that I’ll need going forward.
It’s also worth mentioning the bonds that form between yourself and the other participants. It was a wonderful experience and I would recommend it with gusto to anyone interested!

I found the Write Your Brain workshop a very rewarding experience. Mark’s knowledge on mental health writing and the feedback he gave was very useful in crafting my writing, along with improving my social media work.
Connecting with other talented individuals who share my interests was also really fun and hearing their insights and thoughts on my writing was invaluable.
It was genuinely fun to chat to everyone and share work and I was genuinely sad when the workshop finished!

I enjoyed meeting up with like-minded folks on a weekly basis to support and enhance one another’s writing. This opportunity allowed us to explore topics that we likely would not have explored on our own and create space for learning techniques and tricks to make our writing stand out.
Mark is an excellent leader and facilitator and provides individualized feedback on each piece of writing we do. His expertise in this area is reflected in the literary nuances he points out during each assignment.
